Chemo to remove cancer cells


If you can urgently pass my email to Kenny. My sister went for breast cancer operation last 9th May to take out the lymph. Today she was told she has high grade cancer and has to undergo chemotheraphy. The Oncology staff explained it is the only way to remove all the cancerous cells, and to avoid from spreading.
My concern is, is it necessary for her to undergo the chemo {6 to 8 sessions} just to remove all the cancer cells. After reading your info on Recovering from Chemo, do you think she can "religiously" take the supplement to remove cancer cells.
Your urgent reply please.

Just want to let you know that I'm neither a doctor nor a nutritionist, hence, I will encourage you to seek a second opinion after reading what I have to say.

Both Chemo or using alternative therapies kill cancer cells. Both methods do not kill the cancer cells 100%. Today, you and I carry carry cancer cells too. The only difference are these:

1) Chemo method is to "toxicify" the body. Hence, it will kill both Cancer and good cells of the body. Side effect is permanent damage to internal organ and relapse may happen between 2 to 5 years. Does this method work? Yes.

2) Alternative therapies such as Gerson or Breuss therapies require strict diet. Basically, organic juices with almost no protein at all. This method is to nourish the body so that it can use its self-defense to fight. People who is going through this therapy requires tremendous self-control. Let's say, if they survive and doctor declares that the tumor does not exist anymore, this person cannot go back to its previous diet. It has to follow a strict and clean diet for the rest of his or her life. And a lot of time, people is not open to this idea.

Don't be Fooled by the Omega 3 Scam

The headlines in the newspapers read �Experts cast doubts on Omega 3� BBC.. �The benefits of fish and linseed oils as elixir of life are another health myth� the Times� �The Benefits of Omega 3 Seem Fishy� CBS News.
This is due to a �systematic review� of studies on omega 3 and it�s effects on cardiovascular disease, cancer and mortality, published on Friday in the British Medical Journal. This is not a new study, but a study of studies. The authors conclude that �omega 3 fats don�t have a clear effect on total mortality, combined cardiovascular events or cancer.�
It�s my job to read and analyse the whole paper and it soon becomes clear there is something very fishy going on. The main analysis is on 15 �randomised controlled studies�. Of these studies nine show benefit of omega 3, five show no big difference, and one is shown as negative. So nine for omega 3, one against. The author of the �negative� study, Dr Bemelmans from the University of Groningen in the Netherlands questions how his study could be used to turn this review paper from positive to negative. For good reason. If you read the abstract of this paper (which you�ll find on-line by typing in Bemelmans + margarin) the first thing you�ll find is that this isn�t a study on fish or fish oils, it�s a study on margarine! The authors gave their subjects a margarine containing alpha-linolenic acid ( ALA ) � that�s the omega 3 found in flax � or linoleic acid (omega 6) and found �no significant difference existed in the 10 year estimated heart disease risk.�
The first thing you realise is this first analysis isn�t about the benefits of concentrated omega fish oils, which contain EPA and DHA. The numerous studies that show benefit, not only for those who have heart disease, but also in preventing those that don�t, have given substantial amounts of EPA, which seems to be the more powerful kind of omega 3 for the heart. A mere 5% of ALA is converted to EPA so there�s a world of difference between taking a fish oil supplement and eating an ALA enriched margarine!
Later in the paper the authors do analyse all the studies using fish derived sources of omega 3. They include twelve studies, nine of which show a benefit, one of which shows no effect and two show a very small negative effect. However, combined, in the way that this review analyses the data, this seemingly obvious beneficial effect doesn�t come up as significant.
What I find particularly deceptive I that this obvious skew is not even discussed in the research paper. It really makes me question the integrity of the authors and the journal. Let�s explore that for a minute with a �conspiracy theory� hat on. Last week pharmaceutical drug sales topped $600 billion. The number one best seller was Lipitor, a stin drug for lowering cholesterol. It brought in $12.9 billion. Next is Plavix, for thinning the blood ($5.9 million), closely followed by Zocor, the worlds�s first over the counter statin ($5.3 billion). Next is Norvasc, for high blood pressure ($5 billion). So that�s almost $24 billion dollars for the top four cardiovascular drugs. The natural alternatives for this pharmaceutical goldmine are omega 3s, B vitamins for lowering homocysteine, niacin specifically for lowering cholesterol, magnesium for lowering blood pressure and all the vital lifestyle changes such as exercise. If you wanted to maximise profits it would be worth investing in belittling your competitors. It�s worth bearing this in mind when you read newspaper headlines. That, and the fact that good news sells.
As a scientist this review doesn�t change my recommendations one iota. I�m not alone. Tom Sanders, Professor of Nutrition, King�s College, London who is often quoted as being dismissive of supplementation says It is disappointing that when the vast majority of the evidence points to the positive benefits of Omega-3 Fish Oils for heart, that one review paper can cause so much concern amongst consumers.� Dr Mike Knapton, director of prevention and care at the British Heart Foundation "People should not stop consuming omega-3 fats or eating oily fish as a result of this study."
I couldn�t agree more. There is nothing in this study that makes me cautious about recommending eating oily fish three times a week and/or taking an omega 3 rich fish oil supplement every day, not just for your heart, but also your brain, joints, skin and immune system.

� Half the world don't drink it.

� 70% of people don't have the enzyme to digest it.

� All of us produce an antibody against it.

� It's the top allergy provoking food, linked to asthma, ear, sinus and throat infections.

� The largest ever UK health and diet survey involving over 37,000 people, found the more milk a person drinks the worse their overall health, their digestion and immunity.

� Milk is not recommended for babies. Early feeding creates allergy in one in ten babies resulting in diarrhoea, vomiting, colic, eczema, catarrh, bronchitis, asthma, sleeplessness.

� A protein in milk, BSA, that dramatically increases the risk of child-onset diabetes, is an infant is given milk before the age of 4 months. 100% of newly diagnosed IDD children have antibodies to BSA, compared to 2 per cent in normal children.

� It is linked with autism, ADHD and possibly cot deaths.

In rural China the incidence is 0.5 in 100,000, yet it is estimated that, by 2015, 1 in 4 men in the UK will have a diagnosis of prostate cancer at some point in their lives. It is obviously not genetics since Chinese men emigrating to Europe soon end up with similar risk. The likely major candidate is milk. Why?

� Milk contains Insulin Growth Factor (IGF). IGF-1 is very rich in milk. It's doubly rich in modern milk, partly because cows have been selectively reared to produce milk during pregnancy. This milk is especially rich in oestrogen. On top of that, in the US cows are treated with bovine growth hormone (BGH), which is a growth hormone capable of further increasing milk yield by about 12 per cent. All this means a cow's daily milk production has gone from 3 to 30 litres. Not surprisingly, this milk has two to five times the amount of IGF-1, while the beef from a BST treated animals has about double the IGF. Casein, the protein in milk, helps to carry the IGF into us. The more milk you drink the higher your blood level of IGF-1.

The higher a woman's IGF-1 levels the higher her risk for breast cancer. One study found that women in the top 25 per cent of IGF-1 scores had two to three times the risk of women in the bottom 25 per cent of IGF-1 levels. A study from York University in the UK on the link between IGF and prostate cancer risk in men found a similar result. Men in the top 25 per cent of IGF levels had three times the risk of prostate cancer. These are just two of a dozen trials finding a strong link between circulating levels of IGF-1 and breast and prostate cancer.

Despite all this negative evidence, the Government still tell us to drink it every day. Most people believe it's essential during pregnancy, breastfeeding and for infants. It isn't. The most of humanity's history we haven't drunk milk. Our ancestors weren't milking buffaloes. Sure, you need protein, you need calcium and vitamin D, but there are many other foods that provide these better than milk. Who exactly does need milk?

A word of caution: For the average person milk is a very important source of vitamin D, calcium and protein. If you choose to stop drinking milk make sure your diet includes both fish (for vitamin D and protein) and seeds, nuts, beans and lentils (for calcium and protein), or supplements providing enough vitamin D and calcium. Provided you have these nutrient needs covered there is no need to drink milk.

Hippocrates Soup

  • 1 medium celery knob or root. If don't have, we can substitute it with 3 or 4 branches of celery.

Heart, is one of the most hard working organs in our body or perhaps, THE MOST HARDWORKING ONE. just imagine, if our heart stop pumping for one second? What will happen to us?

Our heart will only get stronger, not weaker. And a lot of time, it is over work. So why is it over work? Well, the answer is pretty simple.

Let's say, all the arteries in our body is like a road. Each road leads to other parts of the body, major organs and etc... And each of this destination requires regular food supply in order to function properly. Now here's the situation, let's say, when the road is clear without any blockage, a red blood cell takes 10 second to reach the Kidney from the Heart. How about along the way, the road has some debris or the road is uneven and this will affect the red blood cell traveling time from the Heart to Kidney. Instead of the usual 10 second, now it may takes 20 second. This is too long for the kidney and the Kidney will malfunction if such situation arises.

So, in order to prevent such situation to happen, the heart will pump harder so that the red blood cell will still take the same amount of time to reach the Kidney from the Heart. After a prolonged period of time, the heart will over work and starts to weaken.

Now, let's take a step back. Didn't I mention about the debris along the road? Yup... If we don't clear the debris on the road, then, there will be more and more and more. If the red blood cell take more than 10 second to reach the Kidney from the Heart, then, it is the same for the red blood cell to take a longer time to reach the Heart from other locations. If it is going to take a longer time, it will affect the heart significantly. Not only that, once the road is choked, blood supply to the heart will be reduced and that is when you get a heart attack.

Understand now? Heart attack is due to clogged arteries and how does the arteries get clogged?

Usually, it is due to

  1. Calcium buildup

  2. Bad Cholesterol

  3. Fats

  4. and others...

How can we resolve it?

  1. Dietary changes

    • Ensure your diet is rich in fiber. Especially soluble fiber because it can remove LDL from the body.

    • Take whole grained food as much as possible. Cut down on rice and take brown rice or whole grain rice.

    • Eats lots of fresh vegetables and fruits

I went thru' the routine as indicated in the web site you sent to me (http://www.allnaturalinfo.com/liver_cleanse.htm).

1st Photo
Here are some photos of my results. First picture is taken first time after my 4th cup. The second picture is after a few times of going to toilet. I did keep spraying the toilet with water to remove the green stain that is why the water is so clear.

I stopped having anything after 2 pm this Sat. Then at 6 pm, I took the first cup of epsom salts mixture. During this time, I went to the toilet after a while, it sort of clear my intestines. At 8 pm, I took my second cup. Went to the toilet a couple of times and this time everything that come out was mostly water and it was rather clear so I guess my intestines are all cleaned.

Then at 10 pm, I took the fruits + olive oil mixture. Immediately went lying on the bed on my right with body curl up for a little more than an hour. After which, I just went to bed.

Next day, woke up at around 6.30 am and consumed my third epsom salt. Went to the toilet once and noticed that the discharges (mostly water) were green. So kind of on the right track since it look like live 'juices'. :) Then at 8.30 am, I took the last cup finally! BTW, the epsom salt is damn salty. :P

Between 8.30 am till 12.30 pm, I went to the toilet a couple of time. First time nothing much, then second time, the first picture (DSC07411.JPG). Then after a few more round, the big one start to appear (DSC07414). Can you imagine a stone that is close to 2 cm in diameter in my body?

Just want to share with all of you who have gall stones or know of someone who has them. There is no need for operation, you can get rid of them yourself!
In May 06, I went for my health screening. The x-ray showed that there were calcified deposits. In Aug 06, I went for abdominal scans, I saw the numerous gall stones. Doctor said that many people have them and don�t even know. They can be harmful when these stones get stuck in the bile duct and one will get jaundice, etc.

Shake your mixture well

Choose a day like Saturday for the cleanse so that you can rest the next day. Take no medicines, vitamins or other pills that you can do without. They could hinder success of the cleanse.
Sat breakfast till 1pm:
Eat a no-fat fruit breakfast and light fat-free lunch such as cooked cereals with fruit but no butter or milk. This allows the bile to build up and develop pressure in the liver. Higher pressure pushes out more stones.
2:00 PM. Do not eat or drink after 2:00 o'clock.
If you break this rule you could feel quite uncomfortable later. Get your Epsom salts ready.
Mix 4 heaping tablespoons of Epsom salts in 3 cups of water (Each cup is 250ml) and pour this into a jar. This makes four servings, 3/4 cup each. Don�t drink yet. Place the jar in the refrigerator to get ice cold (this is for convenience and taste only).
6:00 PM. 1st cup
Drink one serving (3/4 cup) of the ice cold prepared Epsom salts water. I started purging immediately.
If you did not prepare this potion ahead of time at 2:00 PM, mix 1 heaping tablespoon in 3/4 cup of water now. You may add 1/8 teaspoon of vitamin C powder to improve the taste.
If you have no vitamin C powder then add a little citrus juice to improve the taste; but this is entirely optional.
8:00 PM. 2nd cup
Repeat the above by drinking another 3/4 cup of Epsom salts water. You have not eaten since two o'clock, but you won't feel hungry.
9:45 PM. Prepare olive oil & fruit juices
Pour 3/4 cup (measured cup) of your high quality olive oil into the jar. Pour the prepared � cup of squeezed grapefruit and � cup of lemon juice into the jar. Close the jar tightly with its lid and shake briskly until well mixed, almost watery. Only fresh squeezed juice will do this. Now visit the bathroom one or more times, even if this makes you slightly late for your ten o'clock drink. Be ready to go to bed.
10:00 PM. Drink Olive Oil and fruit juices.
Take the solution to your bedside if you want, but drink it standing up. Drink the potion you have mixed. Very elderly, or weak persons, should space this over a period of 15 minutes. Lie down immediately. The sooner you lie down, the more stones you will get out. Put your knees up to your chest in a fetal position. Lie on your right side for at least half an hour. The oil/citrus juice mixture will go to your gallbladder and liver. These organs will not know what to do with THAT much oil emulsion, so they will spasm and throw off all the available bile - plus stones, gravel and crystals.
Sun morning. 3rd cup
Upon wakening, take your third dose of prepared Epsom salt solution. If you have indigestion or nausea, wait until this is gone before drinking the Epsom salts. Don't take this potion before 6:00 AM. It would be best if you don't get up and have someone else give you this potion. This drink will act as a mild laxative and provoke several later loose bowel movements.
2 hours later. 4th cup (the last one - Thank God!) dose of Epsom salts.
Drink 3/4 cup of the mixture. You may go back to bed if you like.
After 2 more hours.
you may get up and take something into your empty stomach. Start with some fresh-made fruit juice. Half an hour later, eat some fruit. One hour later you may eat regular food but keep it light. By supper you should feel recovered.
How well did you do?
Expect diarrhea in the morning, after 3rd cup of Epsom Salts. Look for the green deposits since this is proof that they are genuine gallstones, not food residue. Only bile from the liver is pea green. The bowel movement sinks but gallstones float because of the cholesterol inside. Count them all roughly, whether tan or green. There are hundreds or even up to 2000 stones.

Sometimes the bile ducts are full of cholesterol crystals that did not form into round stones. They appear as a �chaff� floating on top of the toilet bowl water. It may be tan colored, harboring millions of tiny white crystals. Cleansing this chaff is just as important as purging stones.

Never purge when you are ill, Pregnant . The elderly should do this purge under the supervision of a health specialist. If you want to save your gallstones (for proof), place them in the freezer since they will continue to disintegrate otherwise.

G6PD (Glucose-6-phosphate dehydrogenase) Deficiency

What to do during fasting months?

Dear fellow Muslim friends,

First and foremost, I would like to congratulate you that

your fasting month is just around the corner. Do you know that during your fasting month is a great opportunity for you to gain back your health? During this month, you can achieve these benefits:

The hand foot mouth infections among children is a virus
infection. Hence, anti-biotics does not help in treating this problem.

Do not give anti-biotics to kids because it will cause
stunned growth.

How to cure? The problem usually will go away after 7 days. During this period of time, our goal is to help the kids relieve the symptoms.

1) Drinks lots of water

2) Drink at least 1 packet of active 8

3) Feed the kids with 5 chewable multi-vitamin, 10 chewable natural C and 2 chewable calcium magnesium per day

4) If the kid start to develop loose stools, stop drinking active 8. If loose stools persist, decrease natural C to 5. If loose still persists, stop taking natural C.

Do step 1 to 4 everyday until the kids recover. Please remember, no anti-biotics.

Any physician who gives twelve courses of antibiotics to an infant under a year old is a real quack. I know more than one doctor who does.

Ray, a health professional himself, brought his 11 month old son Robbie to me. The child was very sick, and had been for over a week. No one, and I mean no one, in their family had had any sleep in a long time. They were up night after night with this child, who had a high fever, glazed watery eyes, tons of thick watery mucus, labored breathing, would not sleep, and did little else but cry. Day and night, night and day.

Robbie was under the care of a pediatrician, who had been prescribing serious antibiotics all along. Antibiotics were clearly not working. This was all too apparent to Ray.

"Twelve rounds of antibiotics for a baby under a year old, and all the doctor wants to do is give more antibiotics?" he said. "That makes no sense at all."

"Ray, antibiotics are their knee-jerk answer to a lot of things. There is a saying:
'When the only tool you have is a hammer, you tend to see every problem as a nail.'"

"Well, we've thoroughly tried the medical route, and cooperated one hundred percent with the pediatrician. At this point," Ray said, "Robbie is worse, not better. We have got to do something ourselves, and we are going to. My wife is just as emphatic about that as I am."

She was home, taking care of the other children.

I promptly acquainted Ray with the vitamin C quacks.

"So the bottom line is to give Robbie as much vitamin C as he can hold without having loose bowels," Ray said.


"We can do that," he said.

And he did, too.

So now I have a new case history record to offer: 20,000 milligrams of vitamin C daily for a 20 pound baby of 11 months of age. That's how much it took to cure Ray's baby of severe congestion, fever, and listlessness. That is 1,000 milligrams of vitamin C per pound per day; 2,200 mg "C" per kilogram body weight per day, nearly twice what Dr. Frederick Klenner customarily ordered for patients. And even at that huge amount, the baby never had diarrhea!

You have to marvel at where it was all going. More marvelous is how quickly it worked. Ray kept in touch on the phone.

"Robbie was noticeably improved in under twelve hours, and slept through the first night." Ray told me two days later. "He was completely well in 48 hours. Symptom free. Completely well!"

Even without considering the harmful side effects of massive antibiotic therapy, we can look at the futility of all those repeated doses. Antibiotics are either going to work with the first or second round, or they are not going to work at all, period. There is no point in emptying twelve water fire extinguishers on an electrical fire. More of the wrong thing is just more wrong. And in a baby, just plain stupid.

One simply must find the best, safest, and most effective way, especially with infants. The vitamin C quacks (Linus Pauling, Frederick Robert Klenner, Emanuel Cheraskin, William J. McCormick, Irwin Stone, Robert F. Cathcart III, and, ah... me) will tell you that you have a genuine option: consider using vitamin C as your first choice antibiotic.

Taking enough C results in the three C's: patient comfort, low cost, and parental control. Without necessitating the use of invasive technology nor the trauma of hospitalization, parents can regain confidence and mastery over illness to a degree that they might never have thought possible. We have now gone light years beyond the medical profession's customarily paternalistic, condescending attitude towards self-care.

For this reason, vitamin C therapy will be decried and denounced as irresponsible quackery. It takes some real ego strength for a parent to stand firm and say, "This is what I am going to do: I am going to follow the Klenner/Cathcart vitamin C protocol." The vitamin C doctors' shared knowledge of how it is done is the buttress that makes such a stance possible.

When I was a kid, everybody got miracle drugs. From sulfa to Physohex, we followed the crowd from waiting room to prescription counter. Our parents gave us "safe" children's aspirin. Oops, not so safe for high fevers, it was discovered. So then it was children's Tylenol (acetaminophen) for everybody. Hmm: it turns out there's some liver and kidney side effects with that, too. And, as drugs go, acetaminophen is really safe. But drugs all carry side effects; you just choose your poison carefully. Vitamins are vastly safer.

Law: the number one side effect of vitamins is failure to take enough of them.

If you do choose to employ antibiotic drugs, bear in mind that they interfere with normal digestion by killing off beneficial colon bacteria. These are the very bacteria that make vitamin K, the B-vitamins cobalamin and biotin, help us digest many plant and dairy foods, strengthen the immune system, and repress the overgrowth of pathogenic microorganisms. After antibiotic therapy, all persons should take yogurt and an acidophillus supplement for a month or two to help restore a normal, healthy bowel environment. I have found shamefully few doctors who tell this to their patients.

And this is not just about antibiotics. In the 1980 Physicians' Desk Reference, Prednisone didn't even have the "diamond" symbol of a frequently-prescribed drug next to its listing in the table of contents. Now it is used almost indiscriminately. For instance, I know a sixteen year old girl who had a lousy diet, innumerable colds, and chronic bronchitis. After bucketsful of antibiotics, the HMO doctors put her on Prednisone. Prednisone is a drug of desperation. When they pull out the corticosteroids, they don't know what else to do.

Prednisone can cause the following nutritional problems, among others: sodium and fluid retention, potassium loss, osteoporosis, carbohydrate intolerance and increased insulin requirement, and a variety of gastrointestinal complications. Why subject a sixteen year old kid to this?

On the other hand, I have in my possession two United States Pharmacopoeia statements on vitamin C for injection asserting that "there are no counterindications for the use of ascorbic acid (vitamin C)." Additionally, it works. Intelligently employing vitamins can eliminate many dangerous side effects that come from over-reliance on over-the-counter and prescription drugs.

This goes for viruses, too.

Lowered resistance can trigger an outbreak of latent herpes viruses. Marta, age 30, was in her sixth month of a long-desired pregnancy. She came to see me specifically because of genital herpes. Her obstetrician had correctly told her that she could not deliver vaginally as long as there were active lesions. Exposure to herpes constitutes a real danger to a newborn. The doctor had said that if the lesions were inactive, and preferably gone, for a period of so many weeks, he'd OK a natural delivery. Otherwise, it would be a Cesarean for her.

Her question was expected.

"Is there any way to get rid the lesions with nutrition?" Marta asked.

Conformist, party-line dietitians will vigorously deny such a possibility, but then, they don't read their own journals, and certainly not Linus Pauling's books or the Journal of Orthomolecular Medicine.

So the truthful answer, the one I'd have to give if under oath, is: Yes, there probably is: very large doses of vitamin C.

I ran this past Marta, and her concern was, once again, entirely predictable.

"Are megadoses of vitamin C safe for the baby?"

I knew that Frederick R. Klenner, MD (the trailblazer of vitamin C quacks) gave large doses to over 300 pregnant women and reported virtually no complications in any of the pregnancies or deliveries (Irwin Stone, The Healing Factor, chapter 28). Indeed, hospital nurses around Reidsville, North Carolina, the region where Dr.Klenner practiced, noted that the infants who were healthiest and happiest were in Klenner's care. The hospital staff dubbed them the "Vitamin C Babies."

Specifically, Klenner gave: 4,000 milligrams during the first trimester, 6,000 mg during the second, and 10,000 milligrams of vitamin C a day - or even 15,000 mg - throughout their third trimester. This was his routine prescription for healthy women. He would respond to any sickness with daily vitamin C injections totaling many times that.

Over a nearly 40 year practice, Klenner (and previous animal studies) rigorously ascertained the safety and effectiveness of vitamin C during pregnancy. Specifically, there were no miscarriages in this entire group of 300 women. There were no postpartum hemorrhages at all. There was no cardiac distress and there were no toxic manifestations (Stone, p. 191). Among Klenner's patients were the Fultz quintuplets, who, at the time, were the only quints in the southeastern U.S. to survive. Upon admission to the hospital for childbirth, Klenner gave all mothers-to-be "booster" injections of vitamin C.

So my answer to Marta's question of safety was an unfettered "yes."

Additionally," I added, "For the ladies who had all the vitamin C, labor was both shorter and less painful."

Soon to be facing her first delivery, Marta had a vested interest in that little side benefit.

"I've never given birth myself," I went on, "But my wife's two deliveries confirmed what Klenner said. Her first labor was two hours and forty-five minutes total, and her second labor was one hour and forty-five minutes from the very onset to "it's a girl."

Wow!" Marta said, happier than ever.

"I hesitate to keep this going, but there's still more. The obstetrical nurses at Klenner's hospital repeatedly verified that stretch marks were seldom seen on Klenner's post-partum patients. I can personally vouch for this being true with my spouse. After two kids, the second with a birthweight of 10 pounds, two ounces..."

Marta's eyes grew large at the very idea.

"...My wife had a single, half-inch stretch mark. Pretty neat, eh?"

Marta nodded several times.

"Well, I really want to get rid of this herpes thing so I can have a natural childbirth," Marta said. I know that herpes is most certainly not safe for the baby. And from what I've read, Cesarean delivery, like all operations, carries risk, too. It seemed that my balance sheet favors trying the vitamin."

"Well," I said, "If you are going to do it, Marta, you might as well do it right. This means building up your C level to saturation. That's bowel tolerance, remember?"

She did.

"And you mean that I might have to take much more than I'd expect to, right?" Marta added.

"Yes," I said. "You do not take the amount of vitamin C you think you should take; rather, you take the amount of vitamin C that the body responds to. When your symptoms leave, that's the right level for you at that time. As you get better, you will not be able to hold as much of the vitamin. The dose is self-adjusting, and you need no equipment to monitor it. Just take as much as you can comfortably hold, just enough to be symptom-free, but not so much as causes loose bowels."

Marta said, "How long will it be before I see any progress?"

"It depends on how much vitamin C you take, and how much vitamin C you need. A dry sponge holds a lot of water. The body seems to have an enormous capacity for vitamin C when infected with a virus. We'll all find out how much you need when we see how much you can comfortably hold. It is not a contest; just do what gets the healing. But it will take time to get to your saturation level."

"What can I expect along the way?" she asked.

"The first thing you will notice is: nothing. There is a latency period, a lag-time, while you load the body with the vitamin. It's a bit like waiting for your computer to load a new program."

"Can you try another analogy?" Marta said.

"Look at it this way," I responded. "Let's say you were in a plane taking off from Buffalo International Airport in the middle of winter. It is snowing, dark, gray, stormy and windy. Your jet takes off, and begins to climb. The wind rocks the plane, the snow and sleet and hail come down, and it's all dismally gray outside. The plane keeps climbing. All you can see out the window is snow, darkness and the wings shaking from the wind. The person next to you is turning a bit green. Up you go, still in the winter storm. Then, all of the sudden, the airplane breaks out on top of the clouds, and like magic, there's bright sunlight and blue sky everywhere. Look down: Far below you is the storm. It's like it never happened, like you were never in it.

"That is exactly what it is like when you reach saturation of vitamin C. At a certain altitude, higher than you expected, your symptoms go away. This characteristically occurs with such ease that it is hard to believe it until you experience it for yourself. Precious few medical professionals have learned this. The medical-dietetic industry has a real fear of flying if vitamin C is the aircraft. Too bad, when it is the safest and fastest plane in the air.

Marta was nobody's fool, and worked closely with her obstetrician. She had heard about something termed "rebound scurvy," and now asked me about it.

"Rebound scurvy, or the rebound effect, is when a person takes a lot of vitamin C, usually with great success, and then abruptly stops taking it. At that instance, symptoms come back, sometimes including a few classic vitamin C deficiency signs. Research shows that such an effect does not occur in the vast majority of situations.

"However, pregnancy is a special case. If the mother takes a lot of C while pregnant, Klenner and others confirmed that her labor and delivery will be shorter, easier and free of complications. If the vitamin helped while Mommy was pregnant, it should most certainly be given to the baby. During gestation, the baby got all the C he needed. But now, baby is on his own: no more C through the placenta and umbilical cord. If the baby is used to, and benefiting from, abundant vitamin C, it obviously should be provided for him individually after birth. Klenner gave newborns about 50 milligrams a day. Not doing that results in a scorbutic baby."

"But doesn't that just mean that the baby is dependent on vitamin C?" Marta said. I told you she was nobody's fool.

"No," I answered. "No more than the baby is dependent on oxygen, or water, or food. Consider this: If you have a really high paying job, and expenses to fit it, and you are suddenly fired, you have a problem. Your problem is not money. Your problem is a lack of money."

Marta smiled comfortably.

"So don't stop a good thing, then," she said.

"That's it," I agreed. "If vitamin C is important enough for the woman to take before giving birth, then it is important enough for the baby to get after it has been born."

"I can see that," she said. "But I'm going to breast feed my baby. Is there vitamin C in breast milk?"

"There is some, but we do not know how much at any given feeding. Keep in mind that the nursing woman is healing up and stressed out. Along with recovering from childbirth, she is adapting to really momentous changes in her lifestyle and sleeping schedule, and everybody knows that taking care of a baby is a tremendous demand on a person. Mom needs a lot of vitamin C herself. So her amount of available surplus C is small. For this reason, breast milk is an unreliable source of vitamin C for babies. However, mother's milk otherwise is the perfect food for infants. You absolutely, positively are making the right decision when you breast feed. Just slip the child a little C each day as you do it. Even a newborn can gum down a tiny bit of a finely-powdered chewable children's C tablet. You can put a little right on the baby's tongue. Vitamin C drops are also available. My own kids got supplemental C from the very first days of their lives."

"What if a baby was formula-fed?" Marta asked.

"Then supplemental C is ever more essential," I said. "Very little of the vitamin is found in formula, especially after it is manufactured, packaged, opened, heated, poured, and oxidized during bottle feeding."

"OK," said Marta. "I guess I should get started."

She did.

It was not that long afterward that I had a follow-up conversation with her.

"The delivery is on," Marta said. "The herpes lesions are all gone, and have been gone since I got to saturation with the C. Do you want to know how much it took?"

"You bet I do."

"44,000 milligrams a day!" she hooted. "Can you believe that? And at that much I hardly had any bowel signs at all. So I dropped it to about 35 to 40 thousand and stayed there. That's it!"

Not quite. A couple of months later, Marta had one of the most adorable baby girls I've ever seen. That Dr. Klenner fellow. I'd have liked to have met him.

Right now there are a whole lot of researchers searching for a good new anti-viral drug. They are the blind leading the blind. They already have one. The pharmaceutical industry's mercenary scientists and their medical doctor clones will, in fact, try everything but megadoses of vitamin C. I think of them as birds that are willing to land on any branch except one. Too bad, because that one branch is the best in the tree.
