Breast Calcification

Breast, is one of the most important organs that God has created for all living beings. It is the only source of food for all newly born to survive. Providing all the nutrients required for the young ones to grow to certain age before it starts to feed on solid food. This life cycle applies to all mammals that lives on land. I'm not sure about those that lives under the sea. Now, let's understand this breast a bit more. Have we heard about female mammal suffering from breast calcification or breast cancer? Maybe we should do a goggle search for this information. However, in my opinion, only human beings suffered from Breast Calcification or Cancer or both. The key question is, how does it come about and why does it happen?

Let's understand about Breast Calcification in the lay-man terms.

There are 2 types of Breast Calcification. Macro and Micro.

Macro Calcification is usually due to breast ageing. This can be due to your age or perhaps, your breast is the least muscles that you massage. Macro Calcification usually appears as large coarse deposits and it affects mostly old woman. However, it can happen to young woman today too. Especially the breast has suffered some form of injuries or inflammation. In my own opinion, with young women engaging in more contact sports, it is unavoidable that the breast can be injured in one way or another. And thus, macro calcification may happen at a young age.

Micro Calcification usually appears as a small white specks in the breast. Usually, it is not cancerous. However, if they are all cluster together. It maybe a sign that the breast is suffering from some forms of pre-cancerous changes.

According to current medicine practice, breast calcification can only be detected through mammograms. However, does this mean that you have to go for regular mammograms? As for me, I think otherwise. According to Dr. John R. Lee, in his book "What Your Doctor May Not Tell You About Breast Cancer"page 10, he mentioned that Radiation is a potent risk factor for breast cancer, its effect ios cumulative, and mammography involves forcefully squashing the breast and then shooting radiation through it. Hence, the more radiation exposure, the higher the risk of getting breast cancer.

Many doctors had claimed that Breast Calcification is not a result of improper calcium absorption. However, I think that may not be the case. Even though, currently there is no medical research to back up this theory, I think it is still good to ensure that the body is able to absorb Calcium properly.

1) Vitamin D: There is a serious lack of vitamin D in our body today. Even though we live near the equator and we suppose to get lots of sunlight. but many of us choose to stay in a air-con room. Because of this habit, we are lacking exposure to Sun and thus, our body is not producing enough Vitamin D, which will assist in calcium absorption. Furthermore, Vitamin D is anti-cancer.

2) Magnesium: Always take calcium together with magnesium. These 2 minerals work hand-in-hand. Magnesium improves Calcium absorption. However, with today lifestyle, many women have the habits of drinking alcohol and sugar-rich drinks, plus dairy food The consumption of these products increase magnesium excretion through urine and thus, creating the unbalance between the 2 minerals.

3) Vitamin C: Calcium metabolism is affected by the presence of Vitamin C in the bloodstream. Because Vitamin C is acidic and Calcium is alkaline,a large dose of Vitamin C helps Calcium to be more soluble in the body and thus, preventing calcium from calcifying in soft tissue. This method is highly effective against kidney stone, which is also a form of calcification. I suspect, it maybe applicable to breast too.

Lastly, regular self-check is the most important.

Sports injury

Hi,
It's me yet again! :) I need to get some advise on what nutrilite to take for someone who had a sports injury 2 years back where he injured the tendon, knee cap, ligament and sole of the feet. He mentioned that he can't bend his knees too long and that his legs feel shaky at times. I have recommended him to take CalMag and Protein(he's already taking Double X where he feels an increase in stamina :)), but I know that's not enough. What other nutrilite should I recommend him to take and what's the dosage per day(even for the CalMag & Protein)? Pls revert & advise. Hope to hear from you soon on this too. Thanks! :)
Best Regards,

Hi,

Many of us will have sports injury. Whether we do sports or not. Common sports injury is usually due to wear and tear of our joints and it is necessary for us to give the body enough materials to repair, rebuild and protect.

Also, our weight will aggravate wear and tear of our joints. The heavier we are, the more wear and tear we will experience. It is necessary for us to lose some weight if we are over-weight.

Lastly, sports injury takes a long time to heal and we still need to exercise. However, it has to be friendly to our joints.

Repair and Rebuild:

Protein: 2/-/2/-

How much protein do we need per day?

May 14, 2006: How much protein do we need per day?

good info from kenny who is very well versed about nutrition!
----- Original Message -----
Hi Everybody,

For those of us who had been taking Nutrilite protein powder, you guys had asked me this question a couple of times. How much protein powder do we need to take per day.

well, before I answer this question, we need to know how much protein does the body need to take per day. Our body needs about 1g to 1.2g of protein per kg per day. thus, if your weight is 70kg, you need about 70g to 84g of protein per day.

hence, if we are taking nutrilite protein powder, each scoop contains about 8g of protein, then we need about 8 to 10 scoops per day. however, that doesn't mean we need to take so many scoops because most likely, we will be getting some protein from the food that we eat daily.

But some people will be different. let's say you are a vegetarian and you don't eat soya-based product in your daily diet, then you need to take more scoops. if you a non-vegetarian and you seldom take meat and you don't usually take soya-based food, you also need to take more scoops. Basically, for those who do take meat, soya-based food, beans or nuts in your daily diet, then you may want to take less scoops.

My recommendation is to include soya-based foods, beans and nuts in your daily diet. Besides that, take our nutrilite protein powder. then we will have good quality protein for our body. I don't recommend eating meat because it is quite unhealthy. Also, in Singapore, it is difficult to find free-ranch or organic meat to eat. The usual meat that we buy from market or supermarket are usually injected with growth hormone. this is bad for our body.

lastly, do remember to take b-complex when we take nutrilite protein powder. 1 scoop requires 3 tablets of b-complex. this is to ensure good absorption and complete digestion of the protein.

cheers
Kenny

p/s: if you are over-weight, taking more protein will help you to lose weight. if you are under-weight or thin, taking more protein will help you to increase your mass, if you do some weight-lifting. or else, you need to reduce your protein intake.

by the way, have you read the disclaimer?
