Children Coughing

Hi Kenny

My friend's 7 year old son frequently cough. Would you

recommend our Chewable C?

What other supplements may be helpful ?

For someone with warts, would you recommend Milk Thistle ?

What else may be helpful ?

-------------------

hi ,

sorry for the late reply. here are some suggestions:

1) if the boy windpipe gets irritated easily, the boy can take some chewable calcium/magnesium to relax it. for dosage, he can take 5 to 6 per day.

2) is the boy sleeping in the air-con environment? or is it due to the haze? sometimes, if the air is too dry, it will make us cough. so, there is a need to put humidifier in the room. if the boy cough when the environment is cold, then, the boy should not sleep with the air-con on.

3) As for diet, no cold food or drinks. no fried, oily and etc...

4) Take cod liver oil to get vitamin A. It will help to strengthen the respiratory system. If the boy can swallow multi-carotene, it will help too. if not, the boy can take some chewable multi-vitamins. as for dosage, he can take up to 10 per days.

5) drink onion soup. buy 2 or 3 big brown australian onion. those that are used by the indian food stalls. not those small reddish local onions. wash it clean. chop the head and tail. do not peel. the outer skin is important. chop the onion and boil soup. they can put a some brown sugar to get some taste. brown sugar, not white sugar. boil for about 10 mins
and thereafter, drink it warm.

hope this will help

Kenny

Cough

Hi Shaw Jean,
Recently, many people had been asking me how to solve cough problems. The root cause is sleeping in an air-con environment without a humidifier.
Please advise them to keep their room moist and it will solve the coughing problem.
Please take multi-carotene 3/3/3/3 for 3 days and stop.

Kenny

High Cholesterol

Hi,

let's not get too worry about high cholesterol. This is because cholesterol is not the real problem that leads to cardiovascular problem.

However, if you are really concerned about your cholesterol level, I will encourage you to do a blood test and check your cholesterol level.

So, if you have got your results now and you are wondering what's next? Here are some guidelines, I hope it will help:

  • Achieve a high level of low total cholesterol level and a high level of HDL. A good number will be 4.5. It will be good if you can achieve a result lower than 4.5.

  • Have a low ratio between LDL and HDL. The idea ratio is 3.5.

  • Lastly, check your Liver profile. A good Liver profile will have a good Lipid Profile results. Afterall, Liver is the controller of all fats in the body.

Let's say your doctor says you have cholesterol problem and wants you to take medicines. SO HOW? Learn to say no and take a step back.

Ask yourself the following questions:

  • Can the problem be resolved through lifestyle changes? More exercise? Change diet? etc...

Lifestyle changes:

  • Cut down on your red meat and bad fats

  • Beware of food that contains trans-fat

  • Eat Liver friendly food (food that spoils easily)

  • Eat more fresh fruits and vegetables

  • Do regular exercises

  • Sleep early. This is essential for a healthy Liver

Supplementation required:

  • Take both soluble and insoluble fibre to reduce your bad fats and LDL. However, do not take fibre if you are taking any of your fat-soluble vitamins

  • Increase your HDL by taking Omega 3 fish oil

  • Take Milk Thistle for Liver

  • COQ10 improve fats metabolism

  • Vitamin B, C, Lecithin, L-carnitine and Garlic lower cholesterol

  • Vitamin E improves circulation

Instructions to take Nutrilite: after breakfast/after lunch/after dinner/before sleep

Firstly If you are on blood-thinning medicines, these supplements may thin your blood further. Hence, you have to reduce your medicine dosage.

Secondly, most cholesterol lowering drugs will affect your body COQ10 production. Thus, taking COQ10 is essential.

by the way, have you read the disclaimer?

Bronchitis

Bronchitis is an inflammation in the bronchial tubes and it is often the results of mucus buildup, together with coughing, fever and etc...

It usually occurs when the air becomes too polluted and thus, it is important to have an Amway Atmosphere air filter at home. This will help to improve the situation tremendously. Besides that, it is necessary to boost the immune system to cure the bronchitis fast. The longer it is, the worst it will be.

Drinks lots of clean warm water. Water from WTS is recommended.

Take as much of Bio-C as possible.

Do not use any cough suppressant. The body needs to cough out the mucus.

For baby, grind the Bio-C into powder and mix with water. Feed cod-liver oil to get vitamin A. If the drink is too sour, mix it with Acerola Cherry Drink Mix and let the baby drinks as much as possible.

Bedwetting

Hi Kenny,

I had a question and hope you can help to ease this problem.

I had a niece who is 8 yers old and had a bedwetting problem during sleeping. The parent had sent the child to see a specialist doctor for treatment in KK children hospital and the doctor had dignose the child a medicine called DESMOPRESSIN.I had run thru in the internet to see if there will be any side effect and this is what it said. (Was advice to take the medicine for 3 month)

(There are rarely, if any, significant side-effects.However, as desmopressin reduces water with excretion from the body, it can potentially cause water retention if a child continues drinking excessively after taking the medication. Side effects occur occasionally, and include headache, loss of appetite, abdominal cramps and rarely, fits. An important precaution for those children using desmopressin is to avoid drinking water before bedtime.)

Is there any supplement that the child could take to solve this problem?

Awaiting for your advice....

hi,

for such cases, it is usually due to weak bladder or kidney. I recommend the kid to see a reputable chinese doctor to strengthen the organs. Any Eu Yen Sen clinic will be a good choice.

Alternatively, you may want to try this.

1) Protein Powder: 1/1/1/-
2) B-complex: 3/3/3/-
3) Daily: 1/1/1/-
4) Multi-carotene: 1/1/1/-
5) Lecithin E: 2/2/2/-

I suggest you blend it for the kid to drink. The parent
may want to add some fruits to put in some taste.

Some pointers to take note:

1) Do not drink anything 1 hour before sleep
2) No cow's milk, simple carbohydrates and fast-food. Bedwetting at this age maybe caused by food allergies.
3) The kid self-esteem maybe affected. The parents play an
important role to encourage the kid and solve the problems.

Kenny

Nutrition for Beginners

Hi Team,

Recently, many people had been asking me how to take vitamins. Especially for those who are new. Although everybody knows why they need to take vitamins, they would like to know how.

Maybe you can share this information with them.

In our today diets, we have 3 types of too much:

1) Too much of salt (sodium)
2) Too much of sugar (your simple carbohydrates)
3) Too much of bad fats (trans fatty acid)

3 types of too little:

1) Drink too little of water
2) Take too little of fresh produces like fresh fruits & vegetables
3) Eat too little of nutritious food in the morning

So how can we solve this problem:

1) Take 2 tablets of daily to have enough potassium. Potassium balance sodium
2) Take B-complex and protein powder to balance of too much simple carbo intake
3) Take Fish Oil, EPO plus & Lecithin E to balance of trans-fat intake
4) Drink more Amway water treatment system water to hydrate the body
5) Take lots of bio-C. Good for kidney
6) Take power breakfast to have a nutritious breakfast. This is extremely
good for children.

Hope this will help everybody.

cheers
Kenny
