Supplements for long distant runner

A friend of mine had been taking a particular brand for quite sometime. You merely need to put the powder into a container and shake shake shake.

However, the other day he told me he is thinking of changing brand. So I asked him why since you have been doing that for a long time? There is a difference between powder and tablets type. Powder type offers you convenience. Save time like a 3 in 1 coffee. Tablets type requires you to pop different tablets in a day, but it gives you more control. So I ask him, which do you prefer? He couldn't answer me. Next question was, what should he take them?

Let's review this question. For a long distant runner, what does your body need them?

  1. A strong heart. That will be COQ10.
  2. A clear highway for blood to flow. That will be Lecithin E and Salmon Omega fish oil.
  3. Requires a lot of repair, especially those lean muscles. That will be protein.
  4. A high level of oxidative stress. That will be multi-carotene, Bio-C and Lecithin E.
  5. Efficient energy conversion. That will be your B-complex.
  6. Always maintain good joints. That will be either Glucosamine-7 or Glucosamine-HCI.
  7. Relax muscles: Calcium and Magnesium
  8. Last but not least, maintain health. XX or Daily.
What do you think? Is this a lot?

COQ10 Therapy

You maybe wondering why the blog post is called COQ10 therapy? Is there something wrong with me?

Well, it is actually. You see, I have been going for my weekly chiropractic session recently. Tuning my body, adjusting my spine and hips. You may say I look ok... I think so too after my first adjustment and seeing my X-ray. Actually, it is not true. There is quite a far bit of misalignment and my right leg is shorter than my leg. Hmm... no wonder my right foot customized insole always cracked all these years...

So why COQ10? Well, it seems that after the adjustment, I'm kind of experiencing a bit of breathless. Especially after my long run (I'm on the micoach Marathon training program), I just feel something is wrong. I'm not blaming on the chiropractic, in fact my doc said is kind of strange actually. I thought so too... wakaka....

Anyway, I suspect is the way my body is adjusting itself after tuning. Like my chiropractor said, new information is flowing into my brain since my releasing more blood into my brain. I truly believe in that as after my first session, I felt quite a far bit of pressure on my left eye. You only experience pressure on your eye balls when you have high blood pressure. I mean really high ok.

Breathlessness maybe related to the way you breath, sometimes, it is also due the heart needs to pump harder or faster to get more oxygen for the body. It may signals there is something wrong with the cardiovascular system. And for my case, I will take it because of the new adjustment.

After taking 2 capsules of Nutrilite COQ10 per day for the past few days, it seems everything is like back to normal. In fact, this morning I had my 1 hour green zone run with 79% in the zone. What do you think? Not bad right?

Perhaps, my COQ10 is depleting as either I'm getting older, running too much or having too much stress. Whatever the reason it can be, COQ10 becomes essential as some point in life. Don't leave home without it.

Lancet formally retracts 1998 paper linking vaccine and autism

So now Lancet formally retracts this report, how do you feel about it? As for me, I'm still worried about its after effect not because of autism or whatsoever.

Here's the problem, when a baby receive a vaccination, he or she will have fever and they can't tell you. The only way to know is to observe, constantly checking their temperature and see whether they are showing sign of tiredness or they are still active.

For some cases, babies will have high fever and you won't know until don't know when. And by then, their brain or hearing maybe affected. Although we can give our babies crushed bio-C and put in their drink or, give them cherry drink, I still feel that this is not the solution.

Most importantly, it is best to give them vaccination when they can start expressing themselves. Anyway, this is my personal view. Do take it with a pinch of salt.

Eczema

Eczema is actually not a skin problem. It is actually a sign telling us either we are under too much stress or, the body is having inflammation issue. It is that simple. Not matter what cream you apply, what skin doctors you visit, at the end of the day, that particular cream you use will have a limited effect. So, the best solution is solve the root of the problem.

If you are always under tremendous stress, then it is time to de-stress yourself. Learn to take things easily, breath deeply and have a positive mind will help you to reduce the problem of eczema.

And of course, you must also try to find out whether you have any allergy issues and etc... Sometimes, certain allergens will give rise to eczema too. Eat lots of fresh fruits and vegetables will also help to improve the problem too.

  1. Ensure that you take water-soluble vitamins regularly. That means, take both B-complex and Bio-C on an hourly basis if you can. Take 2 tablets each and observe your skin conditions after 2 to 3 days.
  2. Take salmon omega fish oil 1 capsule either 2 or 3 times a day.
  3. Lecithin E: 16 to 32 tablets per day. You can divide it yourself since Vitamin E is an oil-soluble vitamin.
  4. Take 1 capsule of COQ10.
  5. Take 3 capsules of multi-carotene 3 times a day until your skin turn orange and stop.
  6. Take 2 tablets of Milk Thistle to strengthen your Liver
Food to avoid:
  1. Dairy products
  2. Chemical or perfumed soaps, bath oil and etc...
  3. If you are sensitive gluten, avoid it
Food to focus:
  1. Fresh fruits and vegetables
  2. Add full-grained rice to your diet
  3. Drinks lot of water but not to the extent you need to urinate every now and then.
Lastly, you can still lead a normal life as long as you are willing to make some positive changes to your current lifestyle.
