This is a very good article. Not only about the warm water after your meal,
but about
cid:X.MA3.1204255220@aol.comHeart Attacks . The Chinese and Japanese drink hot tea with their meals, not cold water, maybe it is time we adopt their drinking habit while eating.

For those who like to drink cold water, this article is applicable to you. It is nice to have a cup of cold drink after a meal. However, the cold water will solidify the oily stuff that you have just consumed. It will slow down the digestion. Once this 'sludge' reacts with the acid, it will break down and be absorbed by the
intestine faster than the solid food. It will line the intestine. Very soon, this will turn into fats and lead to cancer. It is best to drink hot soup or warm water after a meal.

Common Symptoms Of Heart Attack...

A serious note about heart attacks - You should know that not every heart attack symptom is going to be the
left arm hurting . Be aware of intense pain in the jaw line.
You may never have the first
chest pain during the course of a heart attack.Nauseaand intense sweatingare also common symptoms. 60% of people who have a heart attack while they are asleep do not wake up. Pain in the jaw can wake you from a sound sleep. Let's be careful and be aware. The more we know, the better chance we could survive.

COQ10 Therapy

You maybe wondering why the blog post is called COQ10 therapy? Is there something wrong with me?

Well, it is actually. You see, I have been going for my weekly chiropractic session recently. Tuning my body, adjusting my spine and hips. You may say I look ok... I think so too after my first adjustment and seeing my X-ray. Actually, it is not true. There is quite a far bit of misalignment and my right leg is shorter than my leg. Hmm... no wonder my right foot customized insole always cracked all these years...

So why COQ10? Well, it seems that after the adjustment, I'm kind of experiencing a bit of breathless. Especially after my long run (I'm on the micoach Marathon training program), I just feel something is wrong. I'm not blaming on the chiropractic, in fact my doc said is kind of strange actually. I thought so too... wakaka....

Anyway, I suspect is the way my body is adjusting itself after tuning. Like my chiropractor said, new information is flowing into my brain since my releasing more blood into my brain. I truly believe in that as after my first session, I felt quite a far bit of pressure on my left eye. You only experience pressure on your eye balls when you have high blood pressure. I mean really high ok.

Breathlessness maybe related to the way you breath, sometimes, it is also due the heart needs to pump harder or faster to get more oxygen for the body. It may signals there is something wrong with the cardiovascular system. And for my case, I will take it because of the new adjustment.

After taking 2 capsules of Nutrilite COQ10 per day for the past few days, it seems everything is like back to normal. In fact, this morning I had my 1 hour green zone run with 79% in the zone. What do you think? Not bad right?

Perhaps, my COQ10 is depleting as either I'm getting older, running too much or having too much stress. Whatever the reason it can be, COQ10 becomes essential as some point in life. Don't leave home without it.

High Blood Pressure(Hypertension) and High Cholesterol

Before we proceed to discuss both HBP and HC, we need to know one thing. If you have high cholesterol, over a long period of time, you may experience high blood pressure. If you have high blood pressure, most likely you have high cholesterol.

So why is this so? This is because high cholesterol is due to the accumulation of bad cholesterol in the body. When this bad cholesterol is used to repair the blood vessels, it will harden the wall and create inelastic blood vessels. The hardening of blood vessels will lead to high blood pressure. Not only that, your heart will be working extra hard and over a period of time, you may have an enlarge heart or, a over-worked heart. It will be just one fine day whereby, your heart will tell you, may I have a day rest. This is what you called Heart Attack.

Ultimately, both problem is a lifestyle challenge. A simple change in lifestyle such as diet, perspective of life, more exercise will eventually resolve the problem. Taking medicine does not resolve the root cause.

Lastly, we need to repair the body by achieving the following milestone:
  1. Strengthen the heart
  2. Strengthen the blood vessels
  3. Increase the good cholesterol in the body. This is to improve the ratio between HDL:LDL
  4. Relax the mind by having a good sleep and think positively

Here are some recommendations for taking supplement:

Calcium/Magnesium: 1/-/-/1
COQ10: 1/1/1/-
Salmon Omega: 2/1/-/-
Garlic: 1/1/1/-
Lecithin E: 4/4/4/4
Bio-C: 4/4/4/4
Multi-carotene: 3/3/3/3
Double X: 1/-/1/-
B-complex: 2/2/2/-
Fibre: -/2/2/-
Milk Thistle: -/-/-/4
BP Complex: 1/1/1/-

Lastly, please do the Homocysteine test to check your risk of having a heart attack. Your doctor may discourage you from doing it. The only reason why he does that because he is not well-informed about it.

New Studies conclude Omega 3's, not Statins, Cut Risk of Heart Deaths

Saw this article in Patrick Holford's website. It is really important for us to take Salmon Omega fish oil.

Like what Stephen Lee said, at least 2 per day.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

New Studies conclude Omega 3's, not Statins, Cut Risk of Heart Deaths

Fish oils are better than cholesterol-lowering statin drugs. That's the conclusion of two long-term studies, published this week in the Lancet medical journal. The studies compared the effects of giving patients with heart failure cholesterol-lowering statin drugs or omega 3 fish oils versus placebo. Those given omega 3 fats had a significantly reduced risk of death or hospitalisation, while the statin drugs had no effect. Those taking 1 gram a day of omega 3 fats cut their risk of mortality by 9% and risk of admission to hospital by 8% compared to placebo. Those taking statins had no reduction in risk after almost four years on the drug.

This adds to the weight of evidence in favour of upping omega 3 intake, both from diet and supplements. Taking 1 gram of omega 3 fish oil a day, as given in this study, is equivalent to eating a serving of oily fish almost every day.

It also confirms growing evidence of ineffectiveness of statin drugs in reducing mortality, both in healthy people and those with heart failure. A previous meta-analysis of trials giving statins to healthy people found no difference in mortality after almost four years use.

Despite growing evidence of ineffectiveness the UK government remain committed to prescribing statins to millions of people, and GPs are financially rewarded for doing so. In the US there is a move to prescribe statins to 8 year olds as a preventative measure against future heart disease.

When this trial was designed, some medical experts even expressed concern that it was unethical to give heart-failure patients placebos because they were so confident of the benefit of statin therapy. According to the lead researcher Dr Philip Poole-Wilson from Imperial College, London "The results ultimately should humble researchers, especially as they serve as reminder that medical decisions should be guided by science, and not strongly held opinion." What to exercise if there is no gym in the hotel?

So, let's say you are staying in the hotel and there's no gym. Also, there is no park for you to jog. What exercise should you do?

Sit-up? But how many can you do to burn your calories?
Pilates? That's good too. It helps to strengthen your core muscles. Unless you can do the hundreds, if not, you can't burn much calories.

So what else do you have? Well, if you are staying in a hotel that is reasonably tall, I will encourage you to walk up the stairs. Yup, walk up the stairs. That's right. It is a good opportunity to strengthen your cardiovascular muscles. Take your time to walk up the stairs. If you have stamina, walk at least 3 times. Walk up and walk down. If you can't accomplish even 1 round, just relax and stop. Don't force yourself.

1 round is equivalent to 1 up and 1 down.

Heart

Heart, is one of the most hard working organs in our body or perhaps, THE MOST HARDWORKING ONE. just imagine, if our heart stop pumping for one second? What will happen to us?

Our heart will only get stronger, not weaker. And a lot of time, it is over work. So why is it over work? Well, the answer is pretty simple.

Let's say, all the arteries in our body is like a road. Each road leads to other parts of the body, major organs and etc... And each of this destination requires regular food supply in order to function properly. Now here's the situation, let's say, when the road is clear without any blockage, a red blood cell takes 10 second to reach the Kidney from the Heart. How about along the way, the road has some debris or the road is uneven and this will affect the red blood cell traveling time from the Heart to Kidney. Instead of the usual 10 second, now it may takes 20 second. This is too long for the kidney and the Kidney will malfunction if such situation arises.

So, in order to prevent such situation to happen, the heart will pump harder so that the red blood cell will still take the same amount of time to reach the Kidney from the Heart. After a prolonged period of time, the heart will over work and starts to weaken.

Now, let's take a step back. Didn't I mention about the debris along the road? Yup... If we don't clear the debris on the road, then, there will be more and more and more. If the red blood cell take more than 10 second to reach the Kidney from the Heart, then, it is the same for the red blood cell to take a longer time to reach the Heart from other locations. If it is going to take a longer time, it will affect the heart significantly. Not only that, once the road is choked, blood supply to the heart will be reduced and that is when you get a heart attack.

Understand now? Heart attack is due to clogged arteries and how does the arteries get clogged?

Usually, it is due to

  1. Calcium buildup

  2. Bad Cholesterol

  3. Fats

  4. and others...

How can we resolve it?

  1. Dietary changes

    • Ensure your diet is rich in fiber. Especially soluble fiber because it can remove LDL from the body.

    • Take whole grained food as much as possible. Cut down on rice and take brown rice or whole grain rice.

    • Eats lots of fresh vegetables and fruits

    • Eat deep sea fishes such as Salmon to get good fats. If not, you can get it from flax seed oil.

    • Take lots of food rich in vitamin Bs. Vitamin Bs are required to reduce homocysteine.

    • If your meal does not contain any of the above mentioned food, try not to eat them.

  2. Exercises

    • Do light exercises regularly such as brisk walking or swimming. Do not do vertical exercises as it will strain the heart.

  3. Sleep early

    • This is an important process for the body to rest and do repair.

  4. Supplements

    • Taking supplements are essential because we can never get enough from food. Furthermore, when the body has gone through invasive operation, it needs lots of raw materials to repair and food is never enough. Thus, taking supplement is important.

Whether you have by-pass or stents, points 1 to 4 are applicable.

What supplements to take?

Instructions to take Nutrilite: after breakfast/after lunch/after dinner/before sleep

COQ10: 1/1/1/- This is to improve cell energy production

Lecithin E: 4/4/4/4 Lecithin helps to remove bad fats from the body and vitamin E is a powerful anti-oxidant that will improve blood circulation and thin the blood. If you are taking blood thinning medicines, you may want to reduce the dosage.

Daily Multi-vit: 1/1/-/- Contains all the essential minerals such as potassium that will help to maintain the heart rhythm.

Protein Powder: 2/-/-/2 Important for repairs

B-complex: 6/3/3/6 Reduces homocysteine levels

Calcium/Magnesium: 2/-/-/2 Magnesium improves calcium absorption and this will prevent calcium builds up. Not only that, it helps to reduce blood pressure.

Salmon Omega-3: 1/1/-/- Protects the heart muscle, improve HDL level in the body

Garlic and Licorice: 1/1/1/- It thins the blood and improve blood circulation. If you are taking blood thinning medicines, you may want to reduce the dosage.

Multi-carotene: 3/3/3/3 until palm turn orange stops. Once colour is faded, continue again. Prevent free radical damage on to the arteries.

Bio-C: 4/4/4/4 Thins the blood, prevent free radical damage and blood clots. Combine it with lecithin E, multi-carotene and COQ10.

Milk Thistle: -/-/-/2 If the body has a bad lipid profile, it maybe due to Liver problem. Milk Thistle helps to repair the Liver.

Lastly, if you don't have any heart problem, I will encourage you to do a full blood test to check your C Reactive protein, Homocysteine and Cholesterol level. Just remember, cholesterol is not the key ingredients that leads to cardiovascular problem.

by the way, have you read the disclaimer?
